Di sisi lain, seorang suami juga harus mampu memberikan pengajaran agama kepada isteri dan anak-anaknya. Namun demikian, menemukan seorang suami yang mampu menjadi imam dalam keluarganya sangat sulit, karena suami yang dapat dikategorikan mampu menjadi imam keluarga setidaknya menguasai ilmu pengetahuan agama walaupun hanya sedikit. Jika suami tersebut belum mampu memahami ajaran agama dengan baik, maka dia berkewajiban mempelajari ilmu pengetahuan agama. Sebenarnya, seorang suami tersebut memiliki kewajiban yang sangat besar untuk menjadi imam keluarganya. Mengimami shalat dalam keluarga juga merupakan salah satu bentuk pembelajaran yang diberikan kepada anggota keluarganya. Setidaknya, pembelajaran yang dapat dipetik melalui shalat berjama'ah adalah menjadikan contoh teladan bagi anak-anak terutama dalam melaksanakan shalat secara teratur san tepat waktu.
